Beckyann Eastberg Description/Profile

Beckyann Eastberg is a type of undead human known as a Death Knight. This includes the typical features of this type of undead, including unnaturally glowing eyes, lack of most living bodily functions, and an unnatural voice.

Height: 5'4”
Weight: 135 lbs
Eyes: Scourge Blue
Age: 24 years
Home: Stormwind
Birthplace: Corin's Crossing

Physical Description:

At first sight Beckyann seems like any other citizen of the Alliance. With golden blonde hair and a tan complexion, she is typically dressed in colorful and well-maintained plate armor, a long blade sheathed on her back or two smaller blades sheathed at her hips. Her armor tends to have rather extravagant filigreed designs on it in gold or other precious metals, and may be covered by a tabard of the Alliance or one of the many other orders that serve Alliance territory depending upon what duty she has taken up for the Crown. Often she may have pouches or other objects strapped to her belt, likely holding components for spell casting. A few of the objects appear to be books, and one might assume that they were prayer books based on their size and shape as well as her well-cut appearance.

As one comes closer, it begins to become obvious that the first impression of this woman was false, and that everything about her is a carefully maintained facade that fails to stand up to close inspection. Although she is indeed wearing well maintained plate armor, it is clear from the first glance into her unnaturally glowing blue eyes that there is something wrong with her. The smile that graces her face contains a subtle undertone of malice behind it, and her golden hair is faded, appearing almost brittle at times despite being carefully arranged. The objects at her belt which one might have assumed were used by a paladin or light-worshiper appear more ominous upon closer inspection, with the books having tattered leather covers covered in disturbing glyphs.

Her lips are a bluish-black, either from being painted that way or as the result of a natural condition, and beneath her tanned skin her veins are clearly visible, their sickly coloration indicating underlying ailments that are not reflected in her movements or demeanor. Her chest rises and falls irregularly, and if one looks long enough, one might notice that she goes long stretches without appearing to breathe normally.

After spending only a moment in her presence one could easily come away with the impression that this woman may no longer be amongst the living, despite the fact that she is walking amongst them.

History:

The only child of rather poor parents, Beckyann was born in Corin's Crossing. She lived a relatively peaceful life, with her early childhood being typical to other children in the region. When she became a teenager, the first hints of her future path revealed themselves in the signs that she might have some skill with magic. Unfortunately, her parents did not have the coin needed to send their daughter off to Dalaran for formal training. The young woman was forced to learn as best she could, studying what fragments of magic she was able to read about in the limited archives of Corin's Crossing.

Just before Beckyann reached adulthood, her parents took ill and passed away. Determined not to let the tragedy destroy her, the young woman took the remaining coin that she had managed to scrape together and, combined with what little her parents had left her, traveled to Dalaran. After some struggle, she was able to catch the ear of one of the mages of that city and demonstrate her talent for the Art. She was given formal training, and allowed to work off the cost as an apprentice for several years. She worked as hard as she could at her lessons, sacrificing everything else in her one driving goal not to die in poverty as her parents had done. She made few friends during this time, her obsession driving her onward.

After her training was complete, Beckyann became lucky and was able to find a position in one of the noble houses of Lordaeron, serving as the resident mage for the Woodbury family. It was around this time that the first hints of plague began to show themselves amongst the populace of that nation.

The reaction to the spread of the plague and the rise of the undead varied depending on where one was located and how one viewed the word. Some took their own lives, while others tried to flee to safe havens that would, in time, also be overrun by the undead. For the Woodbury family, the reaction was simple; they would use their vast fortunes to find a way to protect themselves with magic. To this end, they assigned Beckyann to the task of researching the plague and the magic behind it, sparing no expense. The young mage took this task up with gusto, her desire to prove herself and gain fame and power driving her onward.

Beckyann took several of House Woodbury's guards and research assistants with her and went out into the most plague infested portions of Lordaeron, convinced that her magic and the might of the men-at-arms with her would be sufficient to protect her. Her arrogance and naivety would be her downfall.

There was no salvation for Lordaeron. The kingdom was falling to undeath even as Beckyann's expedition set out. The further into plagued territory they passed, the more often they came under assault until overwhelming waves of undead washed over them. Desperate, Beckyann and her retainers fought back, using magic and blades to hold off the inevitable as long as possible. Eventually they were overrun despite the mage's power, and Beckyann found herself in the clutches of the Cult of the Damned.

Eager to understand the research the young mage had already made into the plague, she was subjected to questioning under torture. The process was brutal and was regrettably not short, leaving her body and spirit broken before she finally passed into death. This was not to be the end however, but the beginning of a new life.

Her research into the plague and the necromantic magic that spawned it was brilliant, as was her defiance under questioning. Despite her naivety, it was clear that she would make a valuable asset to the Scourge. She was raised as a Death Knight, and served the Scourge legions until the battle at Light's Hope, where she finally regained her free will and the burning desire to become more than she had been.

Eager now to expand her own power and find her place in the world, Beckyann has returned to the world of the living to find her place there; and to further her own private research into the dark arts that she has been imbued with.

Motto: Life and death is a cycle, a pattern that we are no longer a part of.

Seluna's Profile

Seluna Dawnsea

Height: 5’3”
Weight: 115 lbs
Eyes: Green/blue

This Sin’dorei is extremely pale and somewhat fragile looking. She looks to have spent far more time at study or indoors than roaming Eversong Woods in her youth. Despite her obvious lack of physical exertion, she possesses a certain lithe grace in her movements, characteristic of all of her people.

Seluna is dressed in elegant robes, obviously of fine cut and decorated with expensive threadwork. She carries little on her person that marks her profession, although she may on occasion have a battlestaff or wand at hand. There is a distinct lack of magical affects on her person that one might associate with spellcasting.

Seluna’s hair is pitch black and styled in the latest fashion. Jeweled clips hold it in place here and there, and her ear rings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces match these items. All of them are adorned with precious stones and enough wealth to make one’s head turn.

For those attuned to the Light, particularly paladins and priests of a very devout nature, something seems decidedly wrong about Seluna. An untrained initiate would not notice such a thing, but there is a definite taint of scourge or necromantic magic about her. The most highly attuned might be uncomfortable standing very close to her, or find her touch particularly unpleasant.

Seluna’s eyes, while the fel green of the Sin’dorei, sometimes appear almost ice blue. This effect tends to happen out of the corner of the eye, and a quick glance back at her would reveal nothing, making one think they’d imagined it.

Seluna, once known as Selun’athiel Dayfire, is the mother of Biara Dayfire. When Biara was approximately sixty years old, her father, Tel’athar, was assassinated while meeting with a group of workers. Selun’athiel witnessed his death, and in her despair used her magic to slay the assassins, as well as all of the innocents present, and took her own life in the process.

Much of her family, and many other Houses, believed her to be a mass murderess. She slumbered in the uneasy rest of the dead, forgotten by all but a few. Recently, her daughter Biara began experimenting with necromancy, and through an accident, allowed Selun’athiel’s spirit to return to Azeroth.

The spirit was repelled by Biara’s allies, and they thought nothing more of it, but it had not been returned to death, and lingered on in malice. Having found a host after several months of almost non-existence, Selun’athiel, now calling herself Seluna, has vowed revenge on her daughter, and has sworn that she will return Silvermoon to its former glory, prior to the destruction of the Sunwell.

As shown in her description, those very attuned to the Light may sense the necromantic magic used to recall Seluna’s spirit. Other than a lingering taint of necromancy and scourge power, she exhibits no other hint at her origins, and has no capabilities beyond the form she has anchored herself to. She is rooted within it, returned to life once more, the malice of her thoughts lingering in her mind.

Celessarae Sunblade's Profile

The Sin’dorei before you is clad in an assortment of rich clothing, seemingly thrown together at random from a variety of the latest court styles. The fabrics are expensive and the detail on each piece is exquisite. All of Celessarae’s clothing and equipment seems as if it had seen better days though, with many of her garments having holes or threadbare spots, some of which have been crudely patched and others ignored entirely.

One would think from her outfit that Celessarae was down on her luck, or a noble experiencing bad times, but further evaluation might lead to a different conclusion entirely. Her confident swagger, her sharpened blades at each hip, and the defiant look in her eye might lead one to the conclusion that the items she is wearing perhaps never belonged to her in the first place, and that the damage to the garments might in fact have been from the acts committed to obtain them.

Beyond her clothing, this Sin’dorei has striking blonde hair, usually cut long and allowed to blow in the wind. Her eyes are a very striking Fel Green, and she clearly is one to indulge in Fel or other magics as her whim takes her. Her ears are decorated with a number of golden loops, placed haphazardly through each long lobe as if worn simply as an afterthought. Her hands, arms, and wrists are crisscrossed with scars, clearly from years of swordplay.

When preparing for battle, she is also known at times to wear light plate pieces, usually form fitted to allow her freedom of motion. In fact, she moves so easily in this armor that you suspect it might be enchanted, or perhaps not as sturdy as it seems. All of her plate armor pieces have buckles on the outside, as if to allow for quick removal if the user were to be thrown into water. Her armor tends to be dented and rusty, apparently ill-cared for.

A full appraisal of Celessarae would lead you to believe that it is better not to question her too closely, unless of course you need some bladework performed perhaps. You somehow get the feeling that she might be quite adept at such tasks.

History

Born to House Sunblade, Celessarae spent much of her youth getting into and out of trouble with her various relatives. The black sheep of the family, she often spent long periods of time away from home and in the forests of Eversong. She eventually met a ranger captain and fell in love during her many adventures there, and many thought she would settle down.

During the scourge invasion, she and her beloved were forced to flee with other refugees to Sunsail Anchorage. It is here that her life took a drastic turn for the worse. Finding her love infected with plague from a vicious ghoul bite, and trapped amidst a crowd of refuges seeking to flee on one of the docked ships called the Golden Blade, Celessarae had a part of her survival instincts awaken within her.

She killed her love, freeing him forever from the plague of undeath. She went on to slaughter the ship’s captain when he didn’t force the other refugees overboard, and seized the ship. Taking charge of the crew, she opened fire on the civilians attempting to board the ship and had the mooring lines cut, freeing it. In a final act that few can explain, she used the Golden Blade to ram another ship called the Song of the Sun, which was slowly being overrun by infected civilians despite the fact that some remained onboard to fight.

Since that time, she has renamed the ship the Shattered Blade, and has become a reaver and pirate. Often working for herself, she has built a reputation for murder and mayhem. Recently she was contracted as a privateer for the Horde, and has been savaging Alliance shipping until the Shattering forced her damaged vessel back to port in Silvermoon.

Where her adventures will lead next, none can say for sure.

Celessiel Dawnleaf's Character Description

Celessiel Dawnleaf has a unique appearance amongst Quel’dorei or Sin’dorei elves. Thanks to the curse of scourge magic, her skin is a deep gray color, similar to granite or slate, and her hair is bleached icy white. Despite these striking characteristics, upon closer inspection one would notice that Celessiel breathes and feels just like any other living being, and that her appearance is more a curse than anything else.

Typically dressed in scarred battle armor, she almost always has a runeblade with her. On times when she is dressed more formally, she often carries a rune-enchanted dagger instead of a larger sword or other weapon. In addition to her primary weapon, this Quel’dorei elf usually has a small arsenal of weapons and equipment strapped to her person or her mount, for emergencies of course.

Other than her unusual markings, Celessiel appears as any other Quel’dorei or Sin’dorei elf. (It is impossible to tell which she is due to her cursed appearance.) The only exception is her deep blue glowing eyes, which clearly mark her as scourge-touched if the rest of her appearance had not already given that away.

If one were to see her in less attire, her right hip has a long jagged scar across it, which she has tattooed with various runes in the language of death.

Born in a simple Quel’dorei family, Celessiel spent much of her youth and all of her adult life in the forests of Eversong, tending the lands and helping to keep the magical kingdom of Quel’Thalas shaped and orderly. She would aid the creatures of nature and her fellow Quel’dorei in times of need, helping to keep the forests in balance and the land pure.

When the scourge invaded Quel’Thalas, Celessiel and her family were swept up in the hasty retreat of the rangers as the undead legions approached Silvermoon. Almost within sight of the city, they encountered additional refugees at the East Sanctum. It was here that the group realized they would never be able to save the young and injured amongst them unless they left a rearguard.

Poorly trained and ill equipped, Celessiel joined the brave defenders in a hopeless last stand, taking a mortal wound in that battle. Rather than being given the peace of death however, she was captured while alive, and her body was bathed in scourge magic. Her will was chained to the Cult of the Damned, and she served them without question, unable to free herself.

Unlike many of her compatriots, Celessiel was not freed at the battle for Light’s Hope. She was discovered only recently, as the Argent Crusade mopped up scourge resistance around Ice Crown. Since being freed, the cursed Quel’dorei has vowed to use her dark gift to put an end to those who would deal in death and darkness, using evil as a tool to defeat evil, until she is given the peace of death at last.
