This is the profile for Biara Sunfire, who is a Blood Elf (Sin'dorei) Magistrix of Quel'Thalas in World of Warcraft.
Physical characteristics:
5’3”, 125 lbs, Fel Green Eyes
Home: Silvermoon City
Birthplace: Eversong Woods
Motto: With knowledge comes victory.
Biara wears some of the latest fashions
of Silvermoon, especially favoring dresses that can double as casters
robes when practicing her arts. She takes pride in her appearance
and her nails are carefully manicured and pedicured with magic
sparkling on each one to enhance their beauty. Her hair is artfully
styled, the flame red locks distinctive and visible for quite some
distance.
Like all of the Sin’dorei, Biara
herself is beautiful, elegant, and lithe. She moves with a careful
grace and her small hands and fingers seem particularly adept at
making the minute, careful gestures that are required for
spellcasting. Biara has few outstanding traits, but one thing is very
obvious about her even to a distant observer. This trait was most
definitely caused by magic and includes a large set of faintly
glowing arcane wards on her right cheek. The wards may glow brighter
when she is casting spells and tend towards a light blue, arcane-like
color. If one were to see her in less clothing, similar wards run
from the center of her chest near her heart and wrap down and around
the left side of her body, stopping just above the left hip. These
wards also glow.
For those familiar with arcane magic,
the wards are clearly powerful marks of protection, spell resistance,
and arcane power. The Magistrix’s body is a testament to her
passion for magic, and the glowing protective symbols are like an art
form in themselves.
Biara’s clothes, and especially her
belt, are adorned with magical trinkets, reagents, and other arcane
effects obviously used in spellcasting, and it is clear that she has
a strong passion for magic and the arcane.
Judging by the elf's appearance, it is
clear that this Magistrix has prepared herself for any eventuality,
with more than enough magic to spare. In these dark times, she is the
pinnacle of magical warfare, and one would be wise to approach her
with caution.
Most of the members of House Dayfire
were away on holiday when the scourge destroyed Silvermoon. Their
pleasure yacht was completely unaffected by the disaster, and when
they returned, they were horrified to discover that at least one of
their summer homes had been damaged by the attack, and many of their
servants had become Wretched.
Having an ample supply of magical
artifacts and sources of magic at their disposal, House Dayfire
resolved to help strengthen the new Sin’dorei order, and provided
much funding for the reconstruction of Silvermoon.
Biara, having seen firsthand the
destructive potential of magic in the hands of outsiders, resolved to
aid her House by learning more of the magical arts. She was already
well versed in the arcane, so in a bold move she came up with a
scheme to spy on the Kirin Tor to gain their secrets. Using powerful
magic, she spent many years disguised amongst the human realms,
learning their secrets, and studying the Kirin Tor from afar.
Biara returned to her House with all of
the knowledge she stole during this espionage. Both her own personal
power and that of her House have been greatly advanced thanks to her
efforts, and if some amongst her enemies pause in combat, thinking
something about her seems familiar…well, that’s just an advantage
to be exploited.
RECENT EVENTS
Through Biara, House Dayfire has
established an extensive network of Sin’dorei contacts and allies,
and has begun a campaign of terror against the alliance and those who
would seek the destruction of Silvermoon City. Biara relentlessly
pursues this goal, willing to sacrifice anything for her people.
Biara’s quest to obtain the Spellbook
of Helcular and learn necromantic magic had failed utterly and left
her physically marked and cursed. Although dealt a serious setback,
she resolved to continue her quest to create a new magical body
similar to the Kirin Tor, but made up almost exclusively of Sin’dorei
and other powerful spellcasters of the horde.
Her reckless overuse of magic has slain
countless dozens of her own allies and friends, and eventually lead
to her capture, trial, and imprisonment at the hands of the Kirin
Tor. During her stay in the Violet Hold, she uncovered a plot by the
Cult of the Damned to overrun Dalaran with scourge, and foiled it
from within the prison. Her act of redemption, as well as a change in
heart about the nature of magic, earned her freedom, and during the
battle finally released her from the curse that necromancy had left
on her body.
Biara has since experimented further
with various forms of magic, all in an attempt to increase her
understanding of all forms of power to aid her people. She has
learned well the nature of dark necromantic magic, as well as a
variety of other forms. Knowledge is the ultimate power, and
everything she has learned is bent towards the prosperity of
Silvermoon.
THE FALL OF HOUSE DAYFIRE
During Biara's experimentation with
magic she made a critical error; she brought back the spirit of her
long dead mother, Selun'athiel. The spirit, created from scourge
magic, was of a woman who had died in the throes of madness and rage
and had taken innocent lives in the process. This malign being
resumed her existence in the form of the priestess Seluna Dawnsea,
plotting her revenge upon her wayward daughter and all who allied
with her.
After years of planning, Seluna finally
struck, breaking the wards on House Dayfire's spire and allowing
Alliance attackers to enter the structure, slaughtering many of the
inhabitants and causing the rest to flee as the Spire burned in
magical flames. Biara herself survived this difficult time, but
remains hunted by the evil spirit of her mother, ever only one step
ahead of her hired blades.
THE RISE OF HOUSE SUNFIRE
Reunited at last with her sister
Kyliska Sunblade, the two have used what little fortune remained in
Kyliska's coffers to rebuild a small House. Immediately they moved on
the holdings of Biara's mother, seizing valuable property and
supplies from House Dawnsea under the guise of eliminating a source
of corruption in Silvermoon.
Emboldened, Biara and Kyliska have
taken up a new name and forged the beginnings of the mighty House
Sunfire.
