A letter to the Lady

Seluna walked into her study, her long gown flowing behind her and a magical lantern hovering in the air over her shoulder. Deep in the night, there were no servants in this part of the manor, and Seluna made her way silently to her study where she had writing implments available. After the night she'd had, she needed to send a missive urgently. She slid into her high backed chair, taking up quill, ink, and parchment, her manicured nails flashing in the light of the lantern hovering over her shoulder.

Dearest Lady Dawnsea,
I have news that I believe would be of interest to you. As we discussed previously, I have been making efforts to aid the Horde wherever possible, that House Dawnsea will become recognized as a useful ally and friend to the various factions that politically affect us. In this regard, I believe we have come far, and my healing touch has mended many wounds which would otherwise have proven fatal.

While performing these duties, I returned to Silvermoon to gather supplies for the manor house. Upon the streets of the city, I happened upon a number of Sin'dorei, and was invited to tea. This proved to be a fruitful encounter, for I have gleaned much information about your foes that we can put to later use.

Amongst those at the gathering, a noble by the name of Xavia Paledawn was present. I retained some distance from her, as her affinity with the Light was easily felt even across the room. I kept my conversation with her light and civil, and have come to learn that House Paledawn is allied with House Dayfire. The noblewoman has in fact given support directly to Lady Dayfire it seems. She will require close watching to ensure that her intervention on behalf of House Dayfire does not become a liability to our goals and ambitions.

In addition to this noble, others were present. Amongst them was a rather rough looking farstrider or ranger of some type, an apprentice warlock, and the Archmage Vomher Wyrmcurse. Although these three seem to be of little use to our plans, I believe I can cultivate a fruitful relationship with the warlock if she can be brought properly to heel. I will see to this potential servant as time permits. The Archmage is...rather erratic. His past and the state of his mind haunt him and cause his behavior to be unpredictable at best. Rumor tells that he too is in league with Lady Dayfire, and thus I will take steps to ensure that he is either further unhinged, or so wrapped up within his own delusions that he will pose no threat to House Dawnsea. The ranger was rather simple, and may be of use should mercenaries be required for a task. At the least he was not unpleastant to speak with.

I shall continue to monitor those within the city, seeking out potential threats to your powerbase and anything that would create an issue with our future plans. With your continued support, our goals will be within reach shortly, and those whom we count as enemies will know the pain and suffering that they have inflicted upon us.

Until we speak again, I remain your humble servant.
Seluna Dawnsea
High Priestess of House Dawnsea

Seluna smiled as she allowed the letter to dry. She carefully folded it over, and then sealed it with wax. Her eyes flashed blue for a moment, and shadowy magic built up around the exterior of the letter, a dark spell placed upon it. Any who opened the letter would be slain instantly, and the contents would be destroyed.

Even the recipient.

It was a little game that Seluna and Kenzie played with one another. Power was the only thing worth obtaining, and only those who deserved to hold it could wield it. If Kenzie was defeated by such a simple trap, then she had no business engaging in the deadly war they waged against House Dayfire.

Besides, sometimes Seluna just wanted to hurt people. It made her feel better about the many setbacks she'd suffered, and the position she found herself in.

Seluna smiled to herself and rose from her chair, her gown flowing behind her. She summoned a shadowy apparition, giving the letter to it with instructions to deliver it to Kenzie Dawnsea. The shadowy form, a mockery of Seluna herself, bowed and took the letter, disappearing into the darkness.

The game would go on, and soon it was about to become more interesting.
