Biara paced the floor of
her Conjury, her eyes down towards the intricate runes carved into the
flloor as she gathered her thoughts. All around the circular room the
walls were covered with arcane symbols and magical foci, the power of
the magic in the room throbbing dully in a soft blue glow within them.
In the center of the room, a protective casting circle waited for
Biara's next work of magic, the glow of the magical symbols drawn within
the circle almost too bright to look at. The Magistrix ignored all of
these as she walked, a parchment and quill floating gently in the air
behind her.
Biara paused in her walking and uttered the words to a spell. Upon her head, the circlet that lay amongst her red hair glowed slightly, and the illusion around it vanished. To anyone looking on, Biara would have appeared to have sprouted two perfect horns, situated just on her forehead and symetrical to her face, as if they belonged there. They were only an illusion of the power granted by the fel talisman she had created, but they seemed real enough to the touch as she explored them with her slender fingers.
"Is this the right path?" she questioned aloud. "My experiment has been a success, but am I doing the right thing? Will others really be able to control the power in these devices?"
She sighed and let her hands drop away from the horns atop her head. Only time would tell if the experiment was truly a success or if this path was as dangerous as the one Kael'thas and his followers had tread before her. At least she wasn't ABSORBING demonic entities into her body! She turned and spoke the words to another spell. Instantly the quill sat against the floating parchment, ready to take down all that she said. Biara smiled and composed a letter.
Dearest Covanin,
I hope that this letter finds you in good health and that your own experiments and research have been progressing well. I am reaching out to you in order to tell you about my recent successes, as well as to consult with you on the course we should plot for the future.
As you recall, my plans revolved around the capture of a demonic essence within a portion of the creature's own physical form, rendering it's essence harmless to the wielder but accessible in relation to draining its power as a source of magic. In this regard, I have been entirely successful. The plans and computations I forwarded to your attention have worked beyond my wildest dreams, and I now wear a talisman that contains unimaginable power. It is, dare I say, nearly inexhaustible for a single Sin'dorei, and the device will be useful for many years to come.
Unfortunately, my lack of skill in the summoning and binding of Fel creatures has been a hindrance to this scheme. The Succubus that I have bound, Sarathysssa, has twice now attempted to usurp control over my mind, and I was forced to deal with her harshly on the last such attempt. It appears that the talismans are somewhat susceptible to external damage, so some effort should be made to shield them from overexposure to uncontrolled magical force, lest the entity within be released. I feel no ill effects however, so I believe the succubus is well contained within her prison, although I would not be ungrateful if you were to examine it at some point for further assurance of such.
I believe a warlock of your supreme skill and learning will be able to use the technique I have developed much more safely, and you will benefit greatly from my research. As such, I am enclosing the entirty of the spellwork, so that you may create a talisman of your own, using a suitable demonic candidate. Unfortunately I do not know the True Name of any other entities, but I'm sure this will be no issue for one of your skill to obtain.
I believe we should share this research with other Sin'dorei, particularly those who we feel will be of a similar mind with us in terms of the use of Fel power sources and other such magic. There are many who believe that our birthright is the magic we wield, and those who join us would benefit greatly.
I could not have completed this work without your input, and I eagerly anticipate working with you on future projects, especially in the realm of harnessing such sources. I would suggest we should even meet regularly, if it suits your purposes to do so, such that we may learn more from one another.
Until we meet again, enjoy the magical research I am sending to you, and be well. I remain always your faithful friend.
Warmest Regards,
Biara Dayfire

Biara looked the letter over and smiled in satisfaction. She gathered up some papers from a bookshelf along the outer wall of the conjury, attaching them to the letter. Covanin would probably use his own summoning spells, which likely were far more efficient than hers, but the arcane bindings and power foci spells would be ones he was less familiar with, and would aid him in creating a powerful talisman of his own. It was the least she could do for such a good friend.
Biara gathered up the paperwork and walked out of the conjury with a smile. She'd send the documents to Covanin immediately, and perhaps together they would involve others in their goal of empowering the Sin'dorei.
She never noticed the flash of fel magic in the circlet on her head, or the way her eyes glowed so very green as she walked away from the protective circles in the Conjury.
