A Midnight Visitor

The sky was black, with no moon showing as the figure made its way up to the manor house on the edge of Silvermoon city. The large estate was owned by House Dawnsea, and had once been a summer home before the House fell in disgrace for their failed attack on House Dayfire. Now the major center of House Dawnsea's remaining elite, it was a quiet place, filled with memories of a greater time.

Slipping up to one of the windows on the lower floor of the manor house, the figure pulled back her hood, revealing the features of Celessarae Sunblade. She slowly oiled the hinges on the shutters of the window and opened it. It had been unlocked, just as she'd arranged.

Once inside, it took her only a moment to orient herself before heading towards the master bedroom on the lower floor of the structure. Plush carpets softened her footfalls as she again applied her oil to the door hinges, slowly slipping inside the bedchamber and closing the door behind her. She looked at the large canopied bed, seeing two Sin'dorei sleeping in it. One slept lightly, his form tossing now and then with his dreams, while the other slept as if in a coma. Celessarae grinned with delight.

Her hands reached down to her belt, grasping her sword's hilt. Slowly she unhooked the latches holding it in place, and gently set it on the carpet. Her belt, breeches, shirt, and other clothing soon followed in a neat pile, until she stood nude, with only the faintest of light coming from the stars outside illuminating her. She crept to the bed, slipping in and startling the male occupant of the bed into wakefulness.

"Wha..?" He said before a slender hand clamped down over his mouth.

"Hush now lover. Before you speak again, did you give your wife the potion I supplied you?" Celessarae purred in his ear.

Velorieth Dawnsea nodded slowly, silently and was rewarded with an almost predatory grin from Celessarae.

"Good. Then she'll sleep well into the morning I suspect, and hear nothing."  the pirate purred again. She snuggled up against the noble lord, who returned the smile as her hand was removed from his mouth.

It had been like this for years between her and the minor lord of House Dawnsea. Their tryst was for her amusement mostly, although she suspected that somewhere along the line the fool had fallen in love with her. She'd use this to her advantage of course, obtaining supplies, ship information, and critical sailing plans from the noble lord while whispering to him in his bed. All the while his wife never knew, never suspected that the 'medicine' that he sometimes gave her for her cough was actually a potentially deadly narcotic, designed to keep her slumbering.

Tonight would be no different. She would satisfy herself as she pleased, and possibly glean some valuable information that would help her resupply the Shattered Blade and possibly complete the repairs needed to get the ship out of this forsaken port. She cared little if she ever saw Velorieth again or not, but while he was available he was of use to her, and she needed an edge right now if she was to get ahead in the world.

She smiled at the Lord and whispered into his ear, "You know, I've heard rumors that your ships are carrying cargo for House Runesong. Weapons even. Are you keeping things from me lover? You know I'll have to punish you severely if I find out you are."

He started to protest, but her lips silenced his words before he could get them formed. He would tell her of course, he always did eventually. It just took a little prompting.

It would be several hours before the same shadowy figure made it's way from House Dawnsea's manor house, with none the wiser.
